Pip and the Skyward Isles
A 3D platformer in the old cartridge style. Ten sunstones across four floating islands.
Computer engineering at the University of Michigan
I'm Jackson. I study computer engineering at Michigan, and I'm happiest when something I made leaves the screen. A print comes off the bed. A robot moves. A game actually runs. Here's what I've built so far.
Print with Purpose
Topographic maps of the US, a sphinx, whatever a classroom needs. Every model starts in CAD and has to make sense by touch alone.
A network of Columbia High students prints them, one thin layer at a time. Printers run before school and finish by the time we get home.
Through our partner See3D, the models reach blind schools and organizations across the country. Self-funded from day one.

In the news
The local paper for South Orange and Maplewood covered Print with Purpose during my senior year: how it grew out of my bar mitzvah project working with OrCam, the company behind the MyEye device for people who are blind, and turned into a network of Columbia High students printing tactile maps and models.
The prints go to See3D, a nonprofit that gets them into the hands of blind students around the country. The piece also features my project partner Nate Kitzinger, who has printed hundreds of terrain and weather maps of the US.
Card-dealing robot arm
A motorized arm built from custom 3D printed and laser-cut parts. Modeled it, fabricated it, wired it, coded it, then watched it fling cards across the room until it didn't.
Drag across it. Go ahead.
JT Pressure Washing
Nobody hires a random kid with a pressure washer, so the first few driveways were free. Then flyers, a Facebook page, and eventually friends with their own equipment so we could take on more houses around South Orange and Maplewood.
Popsicle-stick bridges
Architecture and Engineering Club, 2023 to 2026. Bridges and buildings out of popsicle sticks and recycled materials. By year two I was buying the materials and teaching new members how to build.
Games
Every one of these is playable right here.

A 3D platformer in the old cartridge style. Ten sunstones across four floating islands.

Ragdoll gymnastics with real physics. Swing, flip, probably faceplant.

Arcade dodger. Skim rocks for near-miss combos and outlast the Void Sentinel.

Survival builder. String light across the dark before the shades chew through it.
Something new is in the works.
Room for whatever I build next.
From South Orange, New Jersey. Now in Ann Arbor, on MRover's electrical team, and slowly getting through Calc 3.

Four years at Columbia High School. Starter junior and senior year, captain senior year, which mostly meant running drills and coaching younger fencers.
I teach kids' classes in robotics, coding, and chemistry at Genius Gems, and I've tutored middle schoolers with the Achieve Foundation since 2022.
Through Jewish Family Service of MetroWest I help an elderly couple with errands, and I'm their unofficial IT department.
